recharging the lighthouse by ariseandrejoice recharging the lighthouse by ariseandrejoice
We got up very early to catch the sunrise here at Port Washington, WI... but when the sun broke the horizon we were still an hour away. The morning light was still wonderful anyway, and maybe next time we'll get out the door at 3:30 instead of 4:30! Sunset timing is a little more up my alley... :)

I've lived in Port all my life and let me just say, that is a BEAUTIFUL picture. Oh I don't know if you vacationed here or something, but they've opened the part of the harbor by the other lighthouse, built walkways and everything. I walked out to the other lighthouse (which your not supposed to do because its extremely dangerous and off limits) but that, by far, has the most magnificent photo opportunities in the entire city. :)

Awesome! We'll have to visit again - a really charming little place! We're just a couple hours away in the Dells.

I've been to Port Washington before - such a charming place!

I really like the composition of this piece. Everything balances out nicely.

We've (my husband and I) been really charmed by it - we intend to go back for a sunrise sometime soon. Thank you!

Yes it is - not in camera, but using CS3 to make different exposures and then Dynamic-Photo HDR. Thank you!!!

This is so stunningly beautiful! :+fav:! Regardless of whether the sun broke the horizon or is way above it, you guys definitely capture the 'moment' in the right times! :)

Like you, I am more of a sunset person than anything else! You'd be able to tell from my gallery that I'd be all bright and ready to capture the scenery during the sunset! ;)
