desert sunset in the Spring

Seguaro National Park West, in Tucson, AZ.

Flowers everywhere, lovely low rays of the setting sun, and to top it off the desert came alive with the approach of nightfall!

Moments after taking this photo, as I was mesmerized by the scenes in my viewfinder and not careful about where I stepped, I disturbed a fearfully large Western Rattler, only a few feet away. The shake of his rattle spiked my adrenaline beyond previously known levels, and I ran (screaming ) from the scene. My partner *papatheo just wanted to know why I didn't get a picture first...
