The tricks learned are very specific to my camera - how to manuever quickly between settings, and what settings to use on the bright low bursts as opposed to the less bright higher bursts. Having an slr like camera, I'm limited to the lowest iso setting to avoid noise, and my smallest possible aperture setting is only f8. By the time I deduced the exposures through trial and error, the show was over! I used the smallest aperture to avoid burn-out, and the exposures seemed to be from 1/2 sec for the intensely bright low stuff, to maybe 4 or 5 sec for the higher bursts.

With my slr-like camera, I have to keep the lowest iso speed because of noise.
