We (Papatheo and I) have two very exciting projects that are coming to fruition soon, that have led us to finally get a handle on how to make prints that in any way resemble the images we see on our computer screen. I am very excited to find myself on the other side of this mysterious endeavor!
We've calibrated our monitor using the Eye-One calibration device, with excellent and surprising results. After years of fiddling with other methods short of buying the device, we find there is no substitute.
The next step was easy, and unraveled all the guesswork for us. We downloaded the ICC profile for the print paper we were using (in our case, from Adorama) and added the profile to Photoshop to be used for proofing. And voila! We now could make all our adjustments and see how our print would actually look on the particular paper we were using.
Our first major print project is a book of photography in Wisconsin, which was just recently finished. We are waiting for delivery from the printer. I'll be sharing that soon!
Our second project has been to exhibit at the Passion of Creative Mind Festival, which is coming up this September here in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin. If you're in the area please stop by! For more information go to
